This past week I have been organizing logistics for the FLL Competition in December. I will not be attending the first half but I am doing my best to prepare the team to be autonomously running the event. I have also been busy registering for the SAT subject test because I want to go to a great university. Yesterday I called seaperch to try to get a a partnership bet no answer. Today we will be attending a high school fair for young children.

This year the officers have been focusing on strengthening the whole team. We have created a series of workshops as well as a retreat to make each and every student more comfortable in robotics.
Workshops:
- Google Docs
- Chairman's/Scrapbooking
- Safety
- Construction
- Electrical
- Programming
- Google Sketch Up
- Web Streaming/ Social Media/Networking
- Scholarship/Resume/Portfolio
The purpose of these workshops is to provide everyone the opportunity to try out an aspect of the team, thus allowing them to discover where their strengths on the team lies.
Once the members on the team find their comfort in the business like aspect we want the team to work together efficiently. The second annual Falcon Robotics Retreat took place last weekend with a group of about 30 students and teachers. We spent two days and one night bonding with one another and opening our heart,as we expressed our passions with the whole team.

Respect, Honor, and Dignity
The Charge Of The Light Brigade
by Alfred, Lord Tennyson
Memorializing Events in the Battle of Balaclava, October 25, 1854
Written 1854
Half a league half a league,
Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred:
'Forward, the Light Brigade!
Charge for the guns' he said:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
'Forward, the Light Brigade!'
Was there a man dismay'd ?
Not tho' the soldier knew
Some one had blunder'd:
Theirs not to make reply,
Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do & die,
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon in front of them
Volley'd & thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
Boldly they rode and well,
Into the jaws of Death,
Into the mouth of Hell
Rode the six hundred.
Flash'd all their sabres bare,
Flash'd as they turn'd in air
Sabring the gunners there,
Charging an army while
All the world wonder'd:
Plunged in the battery-smoke
Right thro' the line they broke;
Cossack & Russian
Reel'd from the sabre-stroke,
Shatter'd & sunder'd.
Then they rode back, but not
Not the six hundred.
Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon behind them
Volley'd and thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
While horse & hero fell,
They that had fought so well
Came thro' the jaws of Death,
Back from the mouth of Hell,
All that was left of them,
Left of six hundred.

"Be the Change you wish to see in the world" This quote has told many truths. If we wish to get things done and done right we must take the initiative to take action. We must take control of our future by working hard today. Whether it's this robotics, advocating for human rights, or simply dancing, we have to always differentiate right from wrong and get the job done accordingly.
These past couple of days I have been working hard to educate our community regarding the bills proposed by legislator that will affect everyone in a negative manner. We want people to see what our representatives are doing. As students we are concerned with these laws and plan to send a message to our community that we will not comply with their propositions. No matter your race, religion or creed, we are all human.

Build Season is over. Now its time for practice, practice, practice. We must take advantage of the fact that we are fortunate enough to have a twin bot. Any modifications, adjustments, and upgrades must be done here in the robot lab and later added to the competition robot, Dulce's DREAM.

As the days go by, I realize that as we grow up we must take more and more responsibility for our own actions. It goes from picking up after yourself to turning in your work. I just realized I only have as of today 280 day till I am "officially" an adult. I have a lot of soul searching and growing up to do in very little time. I know that robotics is the place to be when it come to take responsibility for everything that I do. I have been assisting with both construction of the robot and the paper work. I know I can contribute even more if I try it's just a matter of balancing my time. Hopefully when all this delayed gratification I have been planning for will pay off.

Being an officer is not an easy job. We have to be fair and forget that our team members are our friends. If we start to make decisions with our emotions, chaos is inevitable. This is why we have our beautiful curse, the REQUIREMENTS LIST. This determine if you have done enough to got to a trip regardless of friendships, clicks, or personalities. Hopefully everyone kept everything updated, then we won't run into conflicts.
